Hey everyone! I wanted to post this pic from our time in Birmingham a couple of weeks ago. After some insistent urging, we submitted this picture to Regis and Kelly's beautiful baby contest. Since there are only about 20 million other babies, I won't hold my breath. But, I have to say, I think he should definitely win!!

G is now pulling up and walking around our furniture, and pushing his walker toys. He is about to have two more teeth, and he's chewing on his bed when he wakes up (morning or night!). He has started waking up at night and crying- one of us will walk in the room, and he will just smile!! We are trying to teach discipline (for all of us), and it's really hard not to pick him up!! But, we are letting him cry and he usually falls asleep within a few minutes. I'll try to get a pic of how he sleeps now. We hope you all are doing good. It won't be long and we'll be planning our little man's first birthday!! AHHHHH!!!

Since our last post, Grant has three teeth, he's crawling, pulling up, and "talking" up a storm!! He has a constant case of the giggles, and even has a temper every now and then. I think he must get that from his daddy!! :) We are convinced he said his first word a week ago. It was tractor!! He has said Mama, but no one heard him but me. Does that count?!?! I can't believe he'll be one in a couple of months. Where does the time go?

Here are a few cute shots of Grant in his Gameday outfit, pulling for the dawgs. As you can see, he gets so excited in some of the pictures, he is trying to crawl out of the chair!!

There are also a few pics of this past weekend. We met Ferrell in Moultrie for Music on the Square. Grant loved the moving lights!

And, this time five months ago (and a few hours), Grant was born. Boy, has our life changed!! He is such a blessing from God. Happy five months, little prince!!

Tonight's the Night...

Actually, it was last night, and Grant slept all night long!!!! HALLELUJAH!! We weighed together two nights ago, and he is 17.6 lbs, and growing!! He's now eating rice cereal with applesauce, and he loves it. I don't think we have to worry about him not eating!!!

And, on another note, while we slept all night, our "cousin" Becky and Michael had Banks yesterday at 3:30, and he is doing great!! They probably didn't get to sleep all night! Congratulations Becky- We can't wait to see him, hold him, and love him!!

Here are the first of many pictures from our family beach trip! It was such a wonderful, refreshing time to spend with our family. It was the first time Matt, Jamie and Bryan have been able to spend much time with Grant since he was one month old! And, Bryan is getting so big- His Lou Lou loves him!! I'll try to put an album on here. Grant is doing great- He is almost four months old (on the 15th). His little personality is fabulous, and he is such little joy!! He will be turning over soon, and he's about to start solid foods!! He weighs about 16 1/2 lbs (at his last appt.), which is pretty big for a four month old!! Ok, enough about Grant. Back to the beach, Hope you enjoy the pics!!

Well, Grant had his two month wellness checkup today!! He's really 2 1/2 months, but we were a bit behind!! He had to get four shots, (two in each leg). He did great, and I'm not just saying that!! He screamed during the shots, and for about five minutes afterwards. After that, he was fine!! Let's just hope and pray he continues to do good tonight! He slept last night from 10- 4:30 this morning- PRAISE THE LORD!! I hope he continues that schedule!! At his checkup, he weighed 15 1/2 lbs (the size of a four month old), and was 25 inches long! The doctor said he was doing great!! I'm posting a really cute picture his Nana Liz took last week when they came over.... Every time I see this picture, I laugh out loud!

Happy Father's Day

This is for two really great Fathers in my life.... Ferrell and my Dad!! We met Sug and Pops in Tifton for Father's Day, and it was wonderful!! Before that, Ferrell and Grant enjoyed some Daddy and son time resting! I'm so thankful to have such a wonderful dad, and such a fabulous husband and father for our son. This love I feel is only minute compared to the love our Heavenly Father feels for us.... I know I take it for granted daily- but I'm learning more and more each day with Grant!! So, to all of the wonderful, Godly dads out there (that means you too Matt!!), have a Happy Father's Day!!!

Hey Everyone! Grant had his two week check up last week, and weighed 9 lbs! He's changing so much everyday... It's hard to believe sometimes he's really here! He's truly God's little miracle for us, and we are having so much fun.... sleep or not! He sleeps about 4 hours a time at night, and does well staying awake during the day. Here are a few pics I took in the last few days- I'll try to do better keeping up with the blog!!

Hey Everyone!! We don't have long, but we wanted to let everyone know Grant arrived safe and sound on Thursday, May 15th at 7:05p.m. He was 8 lbs 9 ozs and 21 inches long. I've attached one picture I borrowed from Jamie- I'll post more as soon as we get them. We are all doing well- a little tired, and very thankful!!! Thank you all for your prayers to get him here safely- You never know how appreciated they are!!! We love you all!!!!

Well, we have some news!! No, Grant isn't here yet, but it won't be long! We went to the doctor today, and we talked about Grant's size and weight. I asked if there was any way to move us up a week, given his size as of last week. He said he was going to talk to us about it, and see what we decided! Being a mutual decision between me and the Doc, we decided not to wait an extra week. So, if we don't have him before, they are going to induce me on Sunday night- Yes, that's FIVE days from now!!! They start the process on Sunday night, and we go from there!!! Thank you all for your prayers- I'm convinced that's the only thing that kept him in there thus far, and please pray for a safe delivery!! We'll update as things progress... I have a sonogram Friday to make sure he is still in position and check his weight again, and then there's no holding back!!!

Hey! Well, we are of course still pregnant. Grant was about 7lbs12oz in the sonogram, give or take a pound. He is practice breathing now (which helps his lungs when he is born), and everything looked great!! The doctor said if I had not had him by May 25 (Sunday), he will induce me that night. Isn't it amazing we were worried about him showing up early, and now he doesn't want to come at all!! I'm still progressing, and he took me off bed rest. I can do what I feel like doing (as long as I don't push myself too much). Maybe that will get him a little motivated!! So, the good news is, we have an end date. If he doesn't make it before, we'll have him Memorial Day. If he comes early, that will be fine too!! Just wanted to give an update- Now is the fun time, and trying to get as much rest as possible before he arrives. We can't wait to meet him- maybe he'll come a little early!!!:):)

Hi Everyone!! We are going to measure and weigh Grant on Tuesday, and Dr. Mordel said we would talk then (about the plans for him). He's already a bit bigger than he should be, so I'm anxious to see how much weight he has gained. After my appt this past Tuesday, mom took a few pics of me in the front yard, and I'll post some. And yes, that is my real belly- no stuffing required!! I hope we get some great news Tuesday- I would love to hold and love Grant for Mother's Day- wouldn't that be the greatest gift ever!!! As soon as we hear something definitive, I'll send it on!!! Also, thank you so much to my sweet cousin and sis in love- they posted such sweet things about me and Baby Grant- it made my day!! Thank you so much- it brightened my mood immensely!!

Hmmmmm.... That seems to be the going question these days!! We are 35 weeks now, and go to the doctor tomorrow. It's funny, when you are on bedrest, you look forward to getting "dressed up" for a doctor's visit. Sad, huh!! We are doing great though- Grant is growing daily, and he is healthy. That's all we can ask for! It might be three more days, or three more weeks, only God knows. But, we do know God knows exactly what Baby Grant needs, and we are learning patience as we've never known right now! Mom has been wonderful, as she has been down here 99% of the time, doing everything I can't do right now. Grant will be her reward- she can't wait either! :) Thank you all for your prayers and encouagement during this time- it means so much to us. If we have any "news" tomorrow, we'll post it for you. And, Grant's name will be Grant Davidson Soles- Davidson is a family name. We love you!!!

Moving Along.....

Well, things are definitely changing around here, and at a very rapid pace. Since we've last blogged, we found out Matt (my brother) and his family are moving to Alabama. We are extremely sad, but very happy for them to have this awesome opportunity. It has been evident God has His hand in this move, as they have sold their house and found another- Praise the Lord!!!

We can see Baby Soles move now, and this is a pretty common occurrence! He hasn't been keeping me up at night- that award to goes to leg cramps a an evershrinking bladder!!! We are mostly finished with the nursery (still need to hang a few things and get a chair), but here are a few pictures. I recorded a video- I'll try uploading it for your viewing pleasure!!:) We are 26 weeks now, and next week I'll be starting the last trimester. We have a 4-d ultrasound in a couple of weeks, and can't wait for you to really see Baby Soles- we can't wait either!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!! For our Valentines Day, we decided we wanted to put together the crib!! We don't have a mattress yet, but we will soon!! The only piece not in there is the changer combo (I couldn't lift it!!!), but here's a pic of the crib with bedding!!!

Thanks Ferrell.... I am just getting over the flu- fun stuff. Ferrell never gets sick, except for two weeks ago. I thought I was safe- WRONG!! So, I went to the doctor Monday( I already had an appt. for my sugar testing), and they ended up giving me medicine and another appt. for the testing. Mom came Monday night (to help with the nursery, but I'm sure another part is me being sick:). We were sitting talking Monday night, and Mom just looked at me. She did come down to paint, but the paint was in Albany.... just a few hours away! So, she got some more paint Tuesday, and the fun began. The color is absolutely beautiful- it's called Dill Weed (I actually think Matt called me that when I was younger), and it goes wonderfully with Little Soles' bedding. I'm so thankful Mom was able to come down and help. And if Dad wouldn't have been so gracious to go to Columbus to get the baby furniture (in between Sod selling:) ), we wouldn't have the furniture yet!! So, hopefully by Sunday, I will have some updated nursery pictures. I can't wait for you to see it!!

IT'S A BOY!!!!

Hey Everyone!! Just wanted to give a quick update!! Results from Monday's ultrasound revealed we will be blessed with a little man!!! I go back next Monday for an official ultrasound. It happened that the sonographer was out last Monday, and we had Mom and Dad, Mom and Dad Soles, and Jamie waiting. So, my wonderful nurse offered to "take a peek". She couldn't promise she would be able to let us know, but we all wanted to see anyway!! Once she started the ultrasound, there was no question!!! He even waved at us- it was wonderful!! So, now the real fun starts. It's like Mom said- we have this wonderful present, and we know what it is, but we have to wait to open it!!! I'll post some pictures once we get them Monday, but I'll give you a pic of me at 20 weeks- I'm starting to get out there!!

Well, just to give a quick update on what's going on!! We had a wonderful, but busy Christmas. It was wonderful spending time with family and friends. And our new Year, Ferrell was working, so I loaded Daisy up and we went with him!! But, for other news, Baby Soles (Aka P'nut), is 19 weeks old (in the womb), and is moving quite a bit. Ferrell and Mom both had the excitement of feeling her/him move!! And, we find out Monday, what P'nut is!!!! Any guesses??? It's amazing to feel the movement, and know that there is a living breathing person in there!!! Well, we hope all of you had a wonderful and blessed Holiday Season. As soon as we get the news, we will definitely pass it along!!! We love you.

Well, with Thanksgiving coming next week, I started thinking about all I have to be thankful for. I've realized in the past few months, God blesses us abundantly, although it may take us a while to realize exactly how He is blessing us. In saying this, it took me a while to be thankful for exactly what I had, instead of what I thought I should have. That humbles you pretty quickly. He desired for me to rely totally on him, so when I did see my blessings that are so bountiful, I would appreciate them even more. In saying this, we are so thankful for His outpouring of eternal love. I'm so thankful for my wonderful, supportive husband, Ferrell. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't be able to do half of the things I do. He is such a great guy, and I'm so thankful God blessed me with him. I'm also thankful for the Godly family He has blessed me with. They are so wonderful, even if I don't get to see everyone as much as I would like. Thankfulness even extends to Miss Daisy- she keeps me from being so focused on myself!! And last, but certainly not least, I'm eternally grateful for our newest blessing, Baby Soles. When we think back about how long it took to get here, we are so blessed by the miracle of our baby. That is our biggest blessing this year. Thank you Lord for your many blessings... they are so bountiful!!!

The Lady Can Cook!!!!

Well, Jamie and I had the opportunity to go see Paula Deen in Albany Thursday night, and boy are we glad we went!! First off, there was a silent auction, so I did a little bidding. I won a 4D ultrasound for $50- and for those of you who have had one done- what a great deal!!! Then, we got to eat. Now, I'm not talking about bird food eating. I'm talking about the butter, lard, and high-in-cholesterol eating!!! Paula brought her ladies who cook at Lady and Sons in Savannah, and they fixed our meal!! And boy, was it good. Now, on to the best part. Paula spoke for about 45 minutes (Jamie and I wished it was a bit longer), and she spoke directly from her heart. She is such an awesome and dynamic lady, and she deserves everything that's come her way. She started out in Savannah with $200 for her catering service. And look where she is now!!! She overcame huge trials and adversity, to become what she wanted to be. To me, anyone should be admired for that. And, she gave us a great lesson: If you have family and friends who love and support you, you can do anything you set your mind to!!! WOW!! How often do we continue on in our lives, and get to a point and think, I can't do this?? With God, your family and friends, anything is possible, and she is a testament to that. Well, maybe next year we can all go- I'll be there with bells on!!!

Hallelujah!!!
Ferrell and I went to the doctor yesterday for our first sonogram.... YES, that's right, I said sonogram!! So, I'm pregnant (for those of you who don't know what a sonogram is.) I'm nine weeks today, and the doctor said I'm doing great. The heartbeat is 176 (very strong)- so looks like there is a baby on the way!! Other than a little morning sickness, noon sickness, and night sickness, I ( I mean we, including Ferrell), are doing great. Everytime we see a pregnant person we know, the first thing Ferrell asks is "are you sick too"? Poor Ferrell!! But, he's been really good- and patient with the hormones!! Well, please keep us in your prayers as the adventure and blessing of a lifetime unfolds- we are so thankful God has blessed us with this miracle. I will try to figure out how to put pictures from the sonogram up in the next day or so. We love you all!!

Save the Last Dance for Me!!

I love fall!!! I love the change of smell in the air, the crispness of the new fall leaves, and last but not least, the new fall lineup of T.V. shows!! I don't consider myself a couch potato, but this fall, I might turn into one. Our summer favorite, The Closer, ended a few weeks ago, so we haven't been watching much T.V. Well, tonight, that all changes. One of my favorite shows, Dancing with the Stars, premieres tonight- and runs through Wednesday- Lucky Ferrell!! I like to pretend it's really me dancing- I really want to take lessons every time I watch the show. I'm pulling for Jennie Garth for now, just because I was such a huge 90210 fan. I'll keep you posted as our favorite shows come on this week- there are too many to mention right now!! (and I have to watch my show!!) :)

Here's our excitement for the week!! Thursday night started like every other Thursday night, until Mom and I started trying to find out where all of the ants where coming from that were invading her truck. We looked at the trail of ants leading to our push mower (in our carport), and Mom instructed me to lift up the mower. Maybe this was our mistake. As I lifted the mower, a baby (2 1/2 ft.) snake dropped it's head down. I couldn't see this, but Mom moved faster than I have seen her move in a while!! And, the rest was history. I got the pistol out, and of course Mom shot the darn thing. Any snake in my yard is a dead snake, no matter if it's a "good" snake or not. So, after the excitement, Mom and I decided to do a little research. Ferrell was working, so he missed everything!! He claims he was lucky?!?! But, the research was done, and it was a Canebrake Rattlesnake. This picture is of a full grown one, but had we not taken care of the problem, this could have been what we found!!! So, be careful right now, and always look where you step- you never know what can be lurking where!!

Well, I bit the bullet. I have resisted the temptation, and failed miserably!! This will be a great way for Ferrell and me to keep in touch with family and friends, and let everyone know what is going on in the big city of Hahira!!
